12-14th October 2016 Dukeshouse Wood, Kingswood, Hexham Residential Trip for Year 4s
The rain did not dampen our spirits as we orienteered; abseiled; swung on the huge 3G swing; took the leap of faith; walked blindfolded at nighttime; completed the assault course, to mention only a few of the activities we took part in during our residential trip to Kingswood in Hexham. While we were there, we made friends with other Year 4s from Longhorsley, Cambo and Tritlington schools.
19th October 2016
Key Stage 2 Rugby Festival
It was another sunny day when we travelled to Morpeth Rugby Club to face Cambo and Longhorsley school teams for our annual rugby tournament. We played bravely but Longhorsley were the overall victors!
EYFS & Key Stage 1 Multi-Skills Festival
The children participated in many different sports skills games to accrue points at this festival at Morpeth Leisure Centre.
21st October Farm Africa Welly Walk
The whole school donned their wellies and strode across Whalton field and fell to discover 'treasure' in the form of cakes, biscuits and drinks under a tree. We loved running across the fields remembering to return to Mrs Potter within 10 seconds once she had blown the whistle. After the walk the children collected 'sponsor' money which was sent to the charity Farm Africa.
Farm Africa is a charity who work to provide farmers with drought-tolerant seed, tools and an understanding of how to grow a good harvest for their families. The charity’s aim is to make these farmers self-sufficient and therefore no longer reliant on food aid.
Thanks to your generous sponsors, the children raised a whopping £611.00.
